On a recent Sunday morning, President Donald Trump proposed renaming New Mexico to ‘New America.’
This suggestion emerged through several social media posts that the president shared. Among these posts were memes of himself, derogatory remarks aimed at his opponents, and messages criticized by Democrats as inappropriate. However, it is crucial to note that the president does not possess the authority to rename any state, including New Mexico.
Previously, Trump ordered that Lake Ontario receive the new name ‘Lake America.’ His latest proposal adds to a series of unconventional ideas forwarded by the president through social media platforms.
The idea stirred reaction from political figures and the public. Critics viewed it as part of a broader pattern of controversial social media activity by Trump, who often employs the medium to communicate directly with supporters.
