Florida Democrat Responds to Allegations of Socialist Influence

Following a significant primary victory by Democratic Socialists of America member Angie Nixon, Florida’s Democratic establishment has been rocked. Representative Jared Moskowitz, reflecting on his own primary strategy against a far-left contender, countered claims from Senator Rick Scott that moderate Democrats are fearful of the progressive faction within their party.

Senator Rick Scott, R-Fla., alleged that Rep. Moskowitz is “scared to death” of the Democratic Party’s socialist wing. He suggested Moskowitz would follow orders from far-left streamer Hasan Piker if re-elected. On “Fox & Friends,” Moskowitz dismissed Scott’s claims, stating, “Rick doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” Moskowitz emphasized his disconnect from Piker, saying they have no association.

During a FOX Business appearance, Scott argued that the Democrat primary winner would act on Piker’s directions and support the Democratic socialist agenda due to fear. In response, Moskowitz, who identifies as a centrist Democrat supportive of Israel, continues to criticize his party’s progressive members, including Piker.

After defeating DSA-supported contender Oliver Larkin, Moskowitz mocked Piker on X. Piker replied, pointing out Moskowitz’s focus on him rather than constituents.

Moskowitz maintains opposition to the DSA agenda, labeling their candidates as “anti-American.” He urges Democratic leaders to denounce the DSA platform.

Moskowitz acknowledges the influence of the DSA’s economic populist movement, asserting that more attention should be given to addressing Americans’ financial struggles.
