Rucker, a multiple Grammy Award winner, prepared for this significant performance throughout the day. His rendition of the national anthem was met with “U-S-A” chants from the enthusiastic crowd.
Before the main event started, Rucker appeared on the pre-show. He shared his deep-rooted appreciation for pro wrestling, remembering the legendary match between Dusty Rhodes and “Superstar” Billy Graham he watched growing up. Rucker also mentioned he owns a genuine Ric Flair robe, emphasizing the value it holds for him.
“I spent a fortune for it and it was worth every penny,” Rucker commented on the robe.
For Rucker, the storytelling in wrestling captivates him the most. He explained how fulfilling it is when wrestling storylines align perfectly and resonate with the audience. “The matches are wonderful and great but it’s the stories,” he stated. “Understanding where the story’s going and when they get it right is the most satisfying thing in the world.”
