Caitlin Clark Overcomes Illness to Achieve WNBA Milestone

Caitlin Clark, despite feeling unwell, proved pivotal for the Indiana Fever in their 83-71 win over the Atlanta Dream. During halftime, Clark experienced nausea and vomited, yet managed to shake off the discomfort and perform impressively. “I haven’t had such a bout of nausea in some time,” she admitted. “But I felt lighter and better in the second half.”

Clark’s performance was noteworthy. She achieved 17 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds, setting a WNBA record as the fastest player to accumulate 150 points and 50 assists in a season. This marked a continuation of her remarkable form from the previous season.

The Fever’s victory was essential, as Coach Stephanie White and Clark had previously been in the spotlight due to a viral sideline exchange. The win broke a two-game losing streak, improving the team’s record to 5-4.

Clark reflected on the team’s progress, saying, “This week everyone took a moment to introspect and find ways to improve. That’s certainly what I focused on.” She plans to continue building on this momentum against the New York Liberty.
