The game, held at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex, saw the Sequoits score four runs in the first inning, setting the pace for their 33-3 season. Antioch is set to face either Chatham Glenwood or Fenwick in the state championship game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. This marks Antioch’s third state final appearance in four years.
On the offensive front, freshman first baseman Kylie Pfleeger made an impact with a triple of her own, driving in two runs against Dunlap, who closed their season with a 30-9 record. Freshman pitcher Pearl Wenzel showcased her skills by allowing just one run on six hits and two walks across seven innings, striking out two and improving her personal record to an impressive 16-0.
Antioch’s senior designated player Kailyn Bockwoldt added to the score with two hits and an RBI, while senior catcher Addie Webb contributed with a two-run single.
