On Wednesday night, a man dressed as a zombie allegedly stabbed two individuals at The Buzz Mill, a coffee shop in Austin, Texas. The attack occurred prior to a planned local comedy show at the establishment.

The Austin Police Department (APD) identified the suspect as Shankar Temple Grace, age 20. Grace fled the scene in a pickup truck, eventually crashing into an unoccupied vehicle.

Authorities classified the event as a disturbance hot shot, indicating a rapidly escalating situation posing an immediate risk to life or serious injury.

First responders found one person with life-threatening injuries and another with non-life-threatening injuries. Both victims were transported to a hospital and reported in stable condition.

The suspect wore a Halloween costume resembling a zombie during the attack, according to witness accounts. Grace was captured by the police roughly 3 miles away from the crime scene, on a walking trail.

Witnesses stated the suspect had previously caused a disturbance at the bar before the stabbing. Grace is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, and is currently booked in Travis County Jail.
