A visitor at Parque Warner Madrid suffered severe leg fractures during a ride on the Batman-themed roller coaster Saturday, causing panic among other guests. According to reports, the 49-year-old man incurred an open fracture in his left leg and a closed fracture in his right leg.
The incident took place on the Batman Gotham City Escape ride. The park announced on X that emergency procedures commenced immediately, halting the ride after the injury occurred. Authorities confirmed that the injured visitor was swiftly airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Batman Gotham City Escape, Spain’s first multi-launch roller coaster, opened in 2023. The ride features high-speed launches and multiple inversions that briefly suspend riders upside down.
“The affected person was attended to immediately by emergency medical services,” Parque Warner stated.
Juan José Molina, another park visitor, described the atmosphere following the incident as chaotic, noting that several people were visibly upset. Some experienced anxiety attacks as emergency responders managed the situation.
In response to the visitor’s injuries, Parque Warner closed the attraction pending a thorough review of the incident with local authorities. Further updates are anticipated as investigations continue.
