Titans’ Win and Subsequent Roster Changes

The Tennessee Titans experienced a challenging start to the NFL season, but Week 6 brought a change. The Titans secured a 26-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, marking their first win of the season.

Despite the victory, the celebratory mood was short-lived. On Tuesday, the Titans made an unexpected announcement concerning their defensive lineman.

Titans Release Jordan Elliott

The team released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott, citing an unspecified incident at the team’s facility. A statement from the Titans mentioned that this occurred last Thursday, October 15.

Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster. We will have no further comment on the matter.

Elliott, who played under Robert Saleh when he was the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, had joined Saleh at Tennessee. He appeared in five games this season, recording 11 tackles.

Alontae Taylor’s Absence

Another notable roster decision involved defensive back Alontae Taylor. He did not participate in the recent game due to a coach’s decision. Head Coach Robert Saleh did not provide further details regarding Taylor’s status.

Taylor has been an important part of the Titans’ defense, playing nearly every defensive snap in the first five games. He signed a three-year deal with the Titans in March, totaling $58 million. During those five games, he recorded 19 tackles and one sack.

Upcoming Game Against the Browns

The Titans are preparing for their next challenge against the AFC North-leading Cleveland Browns at Nissan Stadium. The team will seek to build on their recent victory and reinforce their positions in the league.
