Michigan Senate Race: Rogers Criticizes El-Sayed’s Policies in Town Hall

Republican Candidate Mike Rogers Challenges Abdul El-Sayed

During a recent town hall event, Michigan Senate candidate Mike Rogers criticized his Democratic opponent, Abdul El-Sayed. Speaking with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Rogers cautioned voters about El-Sayed’s policies, asserting they would negatively impact the state.

Rogers accused El-Sayed of a pattern of deception and called him a ‘manufactured candidate.’ He claimed El-Sayed has misrepresented his political stances. Rogers described El-Sayed as an ‘extreme candidate,’ highlighting his calls for defunding the police and releasing prisoners.

Accusations Against El-Sayed’s Policies

Rogers expressed strong opposition to El-Sayed’s support for the Green New Deal, describing it as detrimental for Michigan. He showcased his campaign’s momentum, sharing that volunteers have knocked on nearly 6 million doors statewide. The feedback from these interactions shows voters are ready to reject El-Sayed’s influence, Rogers said.

He noted his campaign is gaining support from traditional Democratic voters. A notable interaction occurred when Rogers addressed concerns from a Jewish woman in the audience, who expressed fear about displaying her Jewish identity publicly. Rogers related similar experiences shared by Jewish students at the University of Michigan.

Rogers’ Proposals for Michigan

Rogers highlighted his focus on housing, education, and skilled trades. He emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for young adults to purchase homes and attracting more defense industry roles to Michigan. Rogers advocated for the reintroduction of shop classes in high schools, stating this would open more career opportunities in skilled trades.

As the town hall concluded, Rogers reiterated his concerns over El-Sayed’s policies, emphasizing Michigan’s inability to afford them. ‘We cannot risk his ideology,’ Rogers stated.

El-Sayed’s campaign did not immediately provide comments regarding Rogers’ accusations.
