Roster Analysis
The Eagles aim to have a strong defense this season. They need to generate significant pressure on opposing quarterbacks to protect their secondary. On offense, doubts remain about quarterback Jalen Hurts’ capabilities, despite his past Super Bowl win, which leaned heavily on their defense. The Eagles excel in short-yardage situations and possess speed with DeVonta Smith. Wicks might receive the attention that Brown previously had. Tight end Dallas Goedert continues to be a solid player. Additionally, Saquon Barkley, despite a less impressive season, remains a top-tier running back and could perform closer to his first year with the team.
Betting Insights
In a competitive division, the Giants and Cowboys are expected to perform better, and the Commanders are likely to improve. Last year, the Eagles won many close games, suggesting they might not be as fortunate this season. Their projected win total is set at 10.5 games, which seems optimistic. Betting on the Eagles at +154 to miss the playoffs might be worthwhile, as improvements alone may not make them a playoff team this year.
