Rapper Nicki Minaj declared her continued support for President Donald Trump during a Republican campaign rally in Michigan. The event took place on Sunday in Port Huron. Trump was campaigning for Senate candidate Mike Rogers and gubernatorial candidate John James.
Minaj joined Trump onstage and expressed strong support, stating, “President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time. And I will continue to support you forever and ever. If you run again, I will support you again.” Although Trump is currently serving his second term and is barred from running for a third term by law, Minaj’s statement highlighted her loyalty.
The artist, recently a judge for the Small Business Administration’s Million Dollar Pitch Competition, has shown increasing support for Trump. “I am so honored to be working with this president. He represents resilience,” Minaj told the rally attendees. She praised Trump’s influence on the nation’s energy and future.
Emphasizing an upcoming vote, Minaj urged backing for Republican candidates, viewing it as pivotal for the country’s direction. She also touched on transgender issues concerning children, stating, “We don’t want our children to be bombarded with sex changes… We want people to leave the children alone.”
Trump introduced Minaj as the “queen of rap” and made a light-hearted comment about her stealing the spotlight. “I don’t like being overshadowed,” Trump said, recognizing Minaj’s popularity.
As the rally ended, Trump praised Minaj once more, commenting on her appeal and understanding. Minaj’s participation in the campaign trail follows her encouragement of young Americans to vote in upcoming elections. Steven Cheung, White House communications director, jokingly suggested on social media that Minaj could be a candidate for White House press secretary.
