On July 8, 2026, Sen. Ed Markey and Rep. Seth Moulton participated in a debate at WWLP-22News in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Both are competing for the Democratic nomination in the Massachusetts Senate race.
Moulton focuses on generational change, claiming it’s time for a new generation of leadership. Markey, in Congress for five decades and holding the Senate seat since 2013, counters with support from progressives like Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Moulton has garnered backing from figures such as New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill.
John Deaton, the 2024 Republican Senate nominee, awaits the primary winner. The seat is likely to remain Democratic in the November election. Polls close at 8 p.m. EDT. Follow live results from Decision Desk HQ.
