Man Killed Following Altercation in West Pullman

A 33-year-old man died after a confrontation escalated to violence in Chicago’s West Pullman neighborhood on Saturday, authorities report. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on the 11500 block of South Halsted Avenue.

Chicago police stated that the victim engaged in an argument with a group, which led to him being shot in the chest. The man was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Davion L. Jackson from the Chicago Lawn neighborhood. An autopsy is planned to take place on Sunday.

At this time, police have not provided details about the shooter. Calumet Area detectives are actively investigating the case.
