Justin Tucker, accompanied by kickers Michael Badgley and Joshua Karty, participated in a workout session with the New York Jets on Wednesday. This event was reported by Tom Pelissero from The Ringer.
Tucker, recognized by many as the greatest kicker in NFL history, has not been active in the league since the 2024 season. Last year, he was unable to secure a contract after serving a 10-game suspension for contravening the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
In January 2025, The Baltimore Banner highlighted that there were allegations by 16 female massage therapists accusing Tucker of sexual misconduct and inappropriate actions during therapy sessions between 2012 and 2016 across multiple spas in Baltimore. As a result of these allegations, the Baltimore Ravens terminated Tucker’s contract in May, ending his 13-year tenure with the team.
Legal and Personal Statements
Despite these serious allegations, Tucker faced no criminal charges or civil lawsuits. He strongly denied any wrongdoing. In a conversation with OutKick, Tucker, alongside his wife Amanda and legal team, made statements defending his character. His attorneys, led by Joe Terry from Williams & Connolly, presented evidence they claimed would question the credibility of the accusations. Among this evidence was an email from one of the accusers, expressing appreciation for their professional relationship when Tucker ended his membership at a spa in 2016.
This material does not independently establish Tucker’s innocence,
legal experts have cautioned.
Comparisons and NFL Response
The situation has drawn parallels with that of Deshaun Watson, who also faced allegations from multiple massage therapists. Watson eventually settled 23 civil lawsuits and was suspended for 11 games in 2022. However, Watson secured a five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed contract with the Cleveland Browns. Following these developments, Watson’s performance has been suboptimal.
Tucker’s case diverges as he is nearing the age of 37 and his form has declined. His 2024 season was underwhelming, with a record-low field-goal success rate of 73.3%. These factors, combined with the allegations, have cast uncertainty over his NFL future.
Teams continue to weigh the potential risks associated with players against their playing ability. Tucker’s recent trials with the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts did not lead to any contracts.
As of now, Tucker has not made any public comments regarding his recent workout with the Jets, and OutKick awaits further communication.
