Stanley Cup Final Update
In Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, the Vegas Golden Knights led 2-0 going into the third period, seemingly set to take control of the series. However, Carolina Hurricanes turned the game around by scoring three unanswered goals, plus an overtime winner, tying the series 1-1. The Hurricanes’ comeback included their fourth overtime win this postseason, achieving a result only the 1966 Canadiens have overcome.
Carolina managed their comeback partly due to a failed challenge from Vegas, resulting in a power play. The Hurricanes then took a 3-2 lead with four minutes left in regulation, only to see Vegas tie the game with 81 seconds remaining. Seth Jarvis of Carolina sealed the victory in overtime with a game-winning goal.
The Golden Knights not only lost the game and their series lead but may also be without key defenseman Brayden McNabb, who was injured by a deflected puck. His status for Game 3 remains uncertain.
World Cup Spotlight: Viktor Gyökeres
As we approach the 2026 World Cup, Sweden’s Viktor Gyökeres emerges as a player to watch. Known for his unique goal celebration mimicking wearing a mask, Gyökeres is renowned for his attacking prowess.
Starting his rise at Coventry City in England, Gyökeres became a prominent goal-scorer in Europe after joining Sporting CP in Portugal, and later moving to Arsenal for approximately $85 million. He has scored 14 goals in 36 Premier League matches and added five Champions League goals.
Sweden has historically made few deep World Cup runs, with their last semifinals appearance in 1994. Gyökeres will be key if Sweden aims to succeed in 2026.
Monaco Grand Prix Preview
The Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix offers a dazzling spectacle with vehicles navigating Monte Carlo’s tight streets. The race raises questions if new car modes will enhance overtaking possibilities on this track.

Charles Leclerc, with his renewed Ferrari contract, will be focused on a home victory. McLaren is anticipated for promising performance, following Norris’ flawless win last year.
