The Philadelphia restaurant Kalaya received the award for outstanding restaurant. Michael Tusk of Quince and Cotogna in San Francisco was recognized as the outstanding chef. Adrian Torres received the best emerging chef award for his innovative approach to Mexican American cuisine at Maximo in Houston. In his acceptance speech, he expressed pride in his immigrant background, noting his status as a DACA recipient and speaking to the audience in Spanish.
