Giants Face Uncertainty with Injuries to Key Players

The New York Giants’ early season optimism is on pause. Their quarterback, Jaxson Dart, faces an injury evaluation. Dart, in his second NFL season, hurt his left knee during a game against the Los Angeles Rams.

The injury occurred in the first quarter when Rams defenders struck Dart high and low. The low hit bent his knee unnaturally. The Giants also faced a scare when receiver Malik Nabers left the game, clutching his right shoulder after a pass fell incomplete.

Dart is unlikely to return soon, though Nabers did come back after a brief absence. The quarterback was seen on the ground, holding his knee, which is concerning. Fortunately, his leg was not planted on the turf at impact, which may reduce the severity of potential damage.

The potential for a season-ending ACL tear seems low. However, an MCL issue is possible, according to NFL sources. This would mean Dart might not need surgery but could miss several games.

Dart limped off, initially treated in a medical tent. Concerned teammates gathered nearby. He eventually headed to the locker room on his own. In Dart’s absence, backup Jameis Winston took the field.
