Coordinated Protests in Austin Following ICE Shooting

Recent reports highlighted an impromptu anti-ICE protest at an Austin intersection after a Venezuelan man was shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent. However, a deeper investigation by Fox News Digital indicates that these protests have roots in organized socialist and communist networks. This includes groups like the Democratic Socialists of America, Freedom Road Socialist Organization, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation, organizations with ties to Neville Roy Singham, a tech tycoon with communist connections, based in Shanghai.

Congress is investigating the Singham network for allegedly creating an aura of “chaos” in the U.S., sparking anti-ICE protests across various locations, including Minneapolis and Newark, N.J.

The incident that triggered the protest occurred at 12:56 p.m. Central Time near Anderson Square in Austin. An ICE officer shot 28-year-old Venezuelan, Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez, during a traffic stop. Pérez was hospitalized, later placed in federal custody. Local officials clarified that Austin police did not engage in the shooting, which is under federal and FBI scrutiny.

Within hours of the shooting, socialist and communist activists were present, waving flags and broadcasting the unfolding event across social media. Headlines focused on anti-ICE sentiments, overlooking the organized political and ideological framework backing the protests.

Significant efforts by organizations like BreakThrough News started broadcasting the event, citing “BREAKING NEWS” from Texas. The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) communicated through national and local platforms, urging people to protest against ICE. Their Austin chapter coordinated with other Texas chapters to amplify the message.

The Freedom Road Socialist Organization also issued statements, claiming “ICE violence” and drawing connections to broader revolutionary socialist ideologies. This group doesn’t hide its intent to foster a revolutionary communist transition by replacing capitalism. Their actions align with support for communist regimes globally, particularly in Cuba and Venezuela.

Videos from the protests depicted chants, signage, and dramatic confrontations with law enforcement, including the usage of fireworks.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation’s manifesto promotes a shift to communism, presenting police and state as enforcers of capitalist domination. The group works intensively with Singham-funded entities, advancing media campaigns and protests.

The actions of these groups are evident in organized social media campaigns as they disseminated synchronized messages and mobilized activists to engage further in protests, including a call to Pearsal Detention Center where Pérez was allegedly held.

Key figures in these movements, such as Brian Becker of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, continue to emphasize solidarity with global communist efforts.

Investigations into the Austin shooting and subsequent protests remain ongoing. Local leaders demand clarity and an unbiased review, with federal entities examining the ICE officer’s use of force.
