As the WNBA 2026 regular season nears its end, the playoff teams are working to secure their positions. With only four days remaining, these teams are locked in:
- Minnesota Lynx: (32-10)
- Golden State Valkyries: (31-11)
- Las Vegas Aces: (29-13)
- Atlanta Dream: (28-14)
- Indiana Fever: (27-15)
- New York Liberty: (26-16)
- Washington Mystics: (26-16)
- Dallas Wings: (26-16)
Teams are striving for higher seedings as the season concludes on Thursday, Sept. 24. The playoffs commence on Sunday, Sept. 27. Notably, the Minnesota Lynx, leading with a record of 32 wins, seek one more victory for the top seed. The Golden State Valkyries trail closely, with the Lynx holding a tiebreaker advantage owing to a 3-1 season series lead.
Playoff Scenarios:
The top four seeds enjoy home court advantage in the first round. The Lynx and Valkyries have already secured theirs. The Aces and Dream are close, with the Aces needing a Dream loss, while the Dream have opportunities against other teams. Tonight’s matchup against the Liberty will not determine the Dream’s home court status.
Seeding and Tiebreakers:
- Head-to-head record
- Winning percentage against .500 or better teams
- Head-to-head point differential
- Overall point differential
Ties involving more than two teams follow a process of elimination. The procedure restarts upon eliminating one or more teams, focusing on remaining ties.
