First Lady’s Reduced Public Engagements Examined

The first lady has participated in about half the number of public events compared to the same period during President Donald Trump’s first term, according to an NBC News analysis. A senior adviser has stated that she ‘prioritizes results over appearances.’

As of now, the first lady has not been seen in public since July 19, marking almost a month of absence from public engagements.

Recently, she did not attend various significant events. She was absent from Senator Lindsey Graham’s funeral and did not attend the reimagined White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. Additionally, when the remains of four U.S. service members were returned to their families on July 22, she was not present alongside the commander-in-chief.
