Democratic Nominee Julian Beaudion Withdraws from South Dakota Senate Race

Julian Beaudion, who was running as the Democratic nominee for the Senate in South Dakota, has announced his withdrawal from the race. This decision comes after resisting pressure to step aside for several months.

Beaudion’s exit means that the South Dakota Senate contest will have no Democratic candidate, marking the third race of its kind without a Democrat. The competition now narrows down to independent Brian Bengs and the incumbent Republican, Mike Rounds.

This development occurs as states prepare for the November midterm elections, with primary-election voting sites getting busy, as seen recently in Alexandria, Virginia.
