Ceyair Wright: Balancing Football and Acting

Wright’s Career Shift

The Cincinnati Bengals signed Ceyair Wright, a defensive back, as an undrafted free agent in April. Wright had played college football at Nebraska, showcasing his passion for the sport. However, his enthusiasm for football seemed to clash with his aspirations in a different field: acting. Recently, Wright left the Bengals to explore other opportunities and was placed on the Exempt/Left Squad.

Pursuing Acting

Wright decided to leave the team to pursue television and film opportunities, as announced by Bengals radio voice Dan Hoard.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor expressed his thoughts on Wright’s departure, noting the difficult decision Wright faced. Taylor acknowledged Wright’s dual passions—football and acting—and commented on his character and university background.

“He’s a great kid, comes from a great university,” Taylor said.

Acting Credentials

Wright has several acting credits. He portrayed LeBron James’ son in “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” IMDb lists his role in “Training Day,” and he appeared in TV shows “Grown-ish” and “2 Broke Girls.” His acting pursuits have clearly influenced his career choices.

Bengals Sign Matthew McDoom

To fill the gap left by Wright, the Bengals signed Matthew McDoom as his replacement. The team continues to adapt to changes and find talent to maintain their roster.
