Arrest Made in Actor’s Murder Case

The son of actor James Handy’s girlfriend has been arrested for his involvement in the actor’s killing, authorities announced on Thursday.

The Los Angeles Police Department reported that Michael Gledhill, 44, has been booked on suspicion of murder. This follows a distress call made around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday from the 19200 block of Erwin Street in Tarzana, Los Angeles. A 911 caller, reportedly Gledhill, stated, “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.”

Upon arrival, officers found Handy, 81, in the front yard, unconscious and suffering from a stab wound to his chest. He was transported to the hospital where he later died due to his injuries, according to the police.

Gledhill reportedly approached the officers at the scene, admitting he was “the one they were looking for.” He was arrested and taken to Van Nuys Jail with bail set at $2 million. Gledhill resided at the home with his mother.

Handy was recognized for his roles in films such as Arachnophobia, Jumanji, and Top Gun: Maverick.
