The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) reported that the crew of the Amazon cargo jet that crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday survived. The announcement came during a press conference held by the NTSB on the same day as the accident. According to officials, the cargo plane went beyond the runway and caught fire while landing.
The crash resulted in five fatalities and left five people injured. The incident involved a Prime Air cargo plane. The crash also impacted two vehicles carrying at least eight individuals, as stated by NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy.
Seven of the affected individuals were in a van located inside the airport perimeter. The van was in use for cleaning services by airlines. Additionally, a civilian vehicle outside the airport perimeter was struck when the plane breached the boundary.
