Rod Stewart Cancels Farewell Tour Due to Health Concerns

Legendary singer Sir Rod Stewart has been forced to cancel his “One Last Time” farewell tour after undergoing a coronary stent procedure. His representative confirmed that Stewart postponed and canceled several performances due to health issues.

Stewart missed his concert at Rocket Arena in Cleveland on Tuesday. This came after he postponed a Sunday concert in Cincinnati at Riverbend Music Center, attributed to a minor medical procedure necessitating prompt attention. Earlier in the year, he also called off performances in Las Vegas and San Diego.

“Following further medical evaluation, Sir Rod Stewart has successfully undergone a routine coronary stent procedure,” stated his publicist. “Doctors are pleased with his recovery, and Rod is doing very well and has returned to his normal daily activities.”

Stewart, 81, plans to take the next four weeks to recuperate, as advised by his doctors. Unfortunately, this means he will not continue with his current tour schedule.

He was originally supposed to perform in North America through September 3, including a six-night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and several dates in Mexico. Details regarding affected performances will be shared by venues and promoters.

Expressing gratitude for his medical team, Stewart said, “I’m already feeling better and very much on the mend. I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and everyone who has taken such wonderful care of me.”

He also shared his regret over not being able to perform, stating, “I’m deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down, but I look forward to getting back on stage and having a good time with you all again soon.”

Stewart, a Grammy Award winner, has sold millions of records over his decades-long career. Known for hits such as “Maggie May” and “Tonight’s the Night,” he has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice.
