Six months have passed since Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Tucson residence. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos explained on Saturday the reason behind the recent release of two alleged ransom notes. Authorities aim to identify the writer through distinctive language or phrasing used in the notes.
“There are elements within these notes that might spark a reaction in someone. Perhaps they recognize the wording or writing style,” Nanos stated in an interview-style video. It remains uncertain if the same individual wrote both notes.
Investigators are actively reviewing a vast number of tips, videos, and forensic evidence in their continuous search for the 84-year-old mother of “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie.
“It’s very active,” Nanos said. “We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us.”
