Unresolved Case of Brooke Hanlon’s Murder in New Jersey

California Man Arrested in Connection with Mother’s Death
In a separate case, authorities arrested a man in California related to his mother’s death. Angela Caprioli, 61, was discovered deceased on a Monday at a residence in Laguna Beach, per the local police department. Identified by the New York Post as mother and son, the suspect Safford Wolfson, 36, was apprehended on Thursday under murder suspicion.
“I saw her outside talking with him and it seemed like a pretty hostile conversation,” said neighbor Dustin Pettit.
Authorities unearthed Caprioli’s body when responding to a call on Dunning Drive. The details of her death continue to be under scrutiny. Neighbor Dustin Pettit mentioned seeing a tense argument between Wolfson and Caprioli shortly before the alleged murder occurred. Pettit noted Wolfson had been living there for about six months and described him as enigmatic.

The New York Post uncovered social media links identifying Wolfson as transgender. In a 2024 Facebook post, Wolfson reportedly expressed alienation: “Not even my mom wants to hang out with me man… talk about lame-o!”
