An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from the Coast Guard crashed near Sitka, Alaska during a training flight on Monday. The accident led to injuries for the four crew members on board.

The crash occurred in a remote area near Harbor Mountain. Coast Guard officials reported the incident in a press release.

“We are incredibly relieved our crew members survived with only minor injuries,” said Rear Adm. Bob Little, commander of the Coast Guard’s Arctic District.

Watch standers at the Arctic District command center received notification of the crash shortly after 10 a.m.

Rescue teams from Sitka Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene around 11 a.m. They transported the injured crew to Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center for medical care.

Authorities confirmed there were no fatalities linked to the helicopter crash.

The cause of the crash is still unclear, and the matter is under investigation.

This incident follows several other aircraft accidents this month:

  • Earlier crashes included a B-52 crash during a test flight in California that killed eight people.
  • A skydiving plane crash in Missouri claimed 12 lives.
