Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis hasn’t participated in competitive football since January 2025. Despite this hiatus, his confidence remains unshaken as he navigates health concerns and his role in Nashville. Levis is expected to start the year as the team’s third-string quarterback, with Cam Ward holding the top position. Levis isn’t intimidated by the challenge of reclaiming a starting position in the NFL.
Speaking to reporters in Music City, Levis stated, “There are not 32 quarterbacks in this league better than me. I know that for sure. I know I’ve put the tape out there already that I’m a dang good quarterback in this league.” Levis, who has 21 starts for the Titans, expressed confidence in his abilities.
I’m not worried about the competition per se or the amount of opportunities that they’re going to give me. I just got to make sure that I’m ready for when they are given to me and just preparing to be the best at that as possible.
Levis’s tenure as an NFL starter, however, presents mixed results. The former Kentucky star holds a 5-16 record, with 21 touchdowns, 16 interceptions, and 17 fumbles. His performance has been a subject of debate, though Levis insists his tape showcases his capability.
While the Titans’ roster during his starting period had limitations, Levis’s early career wasn’t outstanding. Additionally, he faced season-ending shoulder surgery in July 2025, spending the year on injured reserve. As he heads into the 2026 NFL season as a pending free agent, he’s competing with veteran Mitchell Trubisky for a backup role with the season’s kick-off drawing near.
Believing he ranks among the NFL’s Top 32 quarterbacks shows Levis’s confidence, but claiming this while positioned as a third-string quarterback during training camp might seem ambitious.
