Whiting’s Annual Fright Festival
Whiting hosts its annual fright festival for 2026, opening at 5 p.m. on Friday and continuing from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday. This event features Whihala the Witch and a group of dancing sister witches, along with fire-eaters, games, food, costume contests, paranormal investigations, and spooky displays. Saturday daytime hours cater better to children, with scarier activities at dusk.
“Bob After Dark,” a weekly radio show, will have a panel discussion with Bob Anderson and his vampire sidekick at 6 p.m. Friday on the Oliver Street Stage discussing local haunts.

DJ Pauly D Event in Crown Point
Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, known for his role on MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” announced his engagement to Nikki Hall at Caesar’s Palace. On Friday, he performs at Bulldog Park in Crown Point from 5 to 11 p.m. Ticket options include general admission standing room for $40, VIP near stage for $65, and VIP cabana for $1,000.
