Stokke Nighti 3-in-1 Convertible Cot Bed Review: A Practical Solution for Growing Families

Stokke has released a new crib designed to accommodate a child from birth until they reach five years old. This product may be the solution some parents are seeking for their child’s sleep needs. Preparing for a child’s arrival is costly, with cribs often ranking among the most expensive items on a baby registry. Parents aim to make the right choice among the numerous options available, which can be overwhelming. Here is an analysis of the pros and cons of the Stokke Nighti 3-in-1 Convertible Cot Bed.

Pros

  • Neutral Design – Integrates seamlessly into any nursery decor.
  • Low to the Ground – Easier to place the baby down gently.
  • Competitive Pricing – Includes mattress, protector, and sheet.

Cons

  • No Under-Crib Storage – Limits additional storage options.
  • Assembly Required – Some find it difficult to assemble.
  • Pricey for a Newborn Crib – High cost if only used for the initial months.

My perspective comes from living in a New York City two-bedroom apartment. This affects how I assess baby products based on their storage, size, cost, and aesthetics. The Stokke mini newborn cot is standard bassinet size, but its rectangular shape with rounded sides stands out. Many bassinets are oval, which complicates storage arrangements. With a rectangular shape, I could easily place items against the cot.

The wheels are a valuable addition. Initially, I questioned their necessity. However, they allowed me to move the crib smoothly without waking my baby, showcasing their practicality in a limited space like an apartment.

Though the smaller version is usable up to six months, an extension kit converts it into a standard crib and toddler bed. Small spaces may require storing a full-size mattress and extension kit, but these fit snugly against a wall behind the Nighti mini in my home.

An important feature is the crib’s height off the ground. As a shorter individual, I appreciate the low height, easing the process of laying a sleeping child down without waking them. This feature is beneficial for shorter caretakers as well.

In conclusion, the Stokke Nighti crib is a reliable choice for those needing a convertible option. However, parents seeking only a bassinet solution may find more economical choices that are equally effective.
