Vice President JD Vance expressed his anticipation to meet former President Joe Biden in New York City next week for the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Vance stated, “I’m really looking forward to hanging out with Joe Biden. I’m sure that we’ll have many intense intellectual conversations.” This occasion will provide Vance an opportunity to interact with Biden and other former presidents.
Vance will be present at Ground Zero on September 11 alongside former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, as well as former first ladies Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush, for a remembrance ceremony. This marks a significant gathering to honor the memory of the events that transpired 25 years ago.
President Donald Trump will participate in a ceremony at the Pentagon. Other administration officials will represent the White House at Shanksville, Pennsylvania—covering all three locations impacted by the 9/11 attacks. During a news briefing at the White House, Vance clarified that there were no security concerns prompting Trump’s decision to remain in Washington, D.C.
Reflecting on the tragic significance of 9/11, Vance expressed the importance of passing on the memories to future generations. “It’s an honor to go to New York and share in that moment,” he remarked, emphasizing the value of showing children the names of those who lost their lives. He recalled doing this with his family during the 2024 campaign, describing it as one of the most impactful experiences of his life.
Vance encouraged all Americans, especially the younger generations who may not vividly remember the day, to tune in and understand the event’s significance. He believes the tragic day brings unity and a shared purpose among Americans.
