U.S. to Expel Cuban Diplomat

U.S. to Expel Cuban Diplomat

The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, stated that Secretary of State Marco Rubio has signed the necessary documents to expel a Cuban diplomat. The diplomat faces accusations of shoving and attempting to assault an American diplomat.

In an interview on Fox News’ Hannity, Waltz confirmed that the diplomat would depart for Cuba within the next day. “He’s gone. He is going to be on a plane to Havana within the next 24 hours,” Waltz declared.

This decision follows a confrontational incident involving U.S. and Cuban officials at the United Nations. Waltz accused Cuban representatives of trying to disrupt his speech during the event.

In a social media post, Waltz criticized the Cuban regime, stating: “The Castro regime has profited at the expense of the Cuban people with luxury cars, expensive watches and a private island resort.” He continued, “As I shared this with the world, regime thugs rushed the stage to interrupt my speech. They can intimidate their own people in Cuba but think again.”

During his speech, Waltz could be heard saying, “Back away from this podium, he’s not going to intimidate me…”

The comments reflect rising tensions between the United States and Cuba. Waltz accuses Cuban officials of attempting to silence his criticism of their government.

Newsweek has reached out to Mike Waltz via email outside of regular work hours for more information.

This is an ongoing story with further updates anticipated.
