With five teams in the AFC, each holding five victories this season, predicting the top seed of the conference remains unclear. Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons believes that the leading team may not currently top its division.
In Week 7, the Cincinnati Bengals impressed with a commanding 35-13 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Despite a 4-2 standing, including losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars, Parsons believes the Bengals could launch a significant streak.
During his podcast with Bleacher Report, “The Edge with Micah Parsons,” the All-Pro defensive end shared his insights. “I’m gonna say Bengals,” said Parsons. He highlighted the team’s consistency, noting, “Tee (Higgins) is playing crazy this year.” Higgins’ performances, along with Ja’Marr Chase, make the Bengals formidable. Parsons also praised their defense, saying, “It’s not the same Bengals.”
Statistics support Parsons’ views. The Bengals, along with the Jacksonville Jaguars and San Francisco 49ers, rank in the top ten for both offensive points and fewest points allowed. This balance makes them a strong contender.
If quarterback Joe Burrow maintains his current form, leading the league with a 71.7% completion rate and ranking second with 15 passing touchdowns, the Bengals’ prospects look promising. They aim to extend their winning streak against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
