Spencer Pratt Concedes Los Angeles Mayoral Race but Continues Criticism

Spencer Pratt, a former reality TV star and Republican candidate, announced the conclusion of his campaign for Los Angeles mayor in a social media video on Friday. Despite finishing third in the primary, securing about 25% of the vote, Pratt vowed to persist in criticizing Democrats Karen Bass and Nithya Raman, who advanced to the November runoff.

President Trump highlighted Pratt’s loss as indicative of election fraud in Los Angeles, although no proof was presented. He raised concerns about Pratt’s initial second-place standing during election night, which later shifted to third. California’s extended ballot-counting process, especially with a surge of mail ballots from procrastinators, accounted for the delay.

In his video, Pratt made no indication of contesting the results but emphasized ongoing criticism of Bass and Raman. Labeling them a choice between “dumb and dumber,” Pratt’s video was marked by derogatory remarks and unsettling imagery, accompanied by a chaotic audio backdrop.

“I didn’t get in this for political power, I got in this to expose this corrupt machine, and nothing’s changed,” Pratt stated. “I don’t have campaign laws hamstringing me now. It’s war.”

Despite the political defeat, Pratt remains focused on attacking what he describes as a corrupt system, highlighting the tensions within Los Angeles politics.
