Sentencing Looms for Aimee Bock in Feeding Our Future Fraud Case

Aimee Bock, previously the executive director of Feeding Our Future, faces sentencing in federal court in Minneapolis on Thursday. This follows her conviction as the head of a significant $250 million fraud case purportedly linked to a federal immigration crackdown.

Prosecutors argue that Bock should receive a 50-year prison sentence due to the severe impact of her actions. Feeding Our Future allegedly operated as a fraud hub, channeling funds in exchange for fraudulent claims and kickbacks. Prosecutors emphasized the extensive and lasting consequences of the fraud on both Minnesota and the nation.

Bock was found guilty of multiple charges, including conspiracy, wire fraud, and bribery. She maintains her innocence. Her attorney, Kenneth Udoibok, filed a separate plea suggesting her sentence should not exceed 37 months. He stated that Bock cooperated with investigators and was wrongly portrayed as the primary orchestrator of the fraud.

The organization Feeding Our Future supposedly coordinated a scheme involving various partner entities, fake distribution sites, and falsified records of children fed. The fraud cases have involved numerous individuals, mainly from Minnesota’s Somali community, leading to multiple convictions over the years.

During the 2024 presidential campaign, President Donald Trump criticized Minnesota’s handling of these fraud cases, particularly targeting the state’s Somali community. He labeled the state as rife with fraudulent activity and attacked the leadership of Governor Tim Walz, then the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, using the situation to bolster calls for immigration reform.

While most defendants are of Somali descent, as noted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Bock herself is white. The office emphasizes that the majority of those charged are American citizens.
