President Trump recently announced via social media that a peace agreement with Iran is nearing completion. While the final details are still under discussion, the framework of the deal is largely in place. Trump conveyed that “final aspects and details of the Deal” are under consideration and will be disclosed soon.
During an interview with CBS News, Trump expressed confidence that negotiators from the United States and Iran are progressing towards a finalized agreement. Sources familiar with the talks indicated that the current proposal involves reopening the Strait of Hormuz, unlocking certain Iranian assets held in foreign banks, and extending discussions. Although Trump refrained from sharing specific details, he suggested that progress continues daily.
Trump emphasized his commitment to preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, citing the handling of Iran’s enriched uranium as a critical component of the agreement. He stated, “I will only sign a deal where we get everything we want.” Despite ongoing deliberations, sources report that Trump remains undecided, consulting with advisers and communicating with international leaders.
On Saturday, Trump engaged in phone discussions with leaders from Gulf countries and other regions, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Qatar. These discussions aimed to address the uncertain aspects of the Iran talks, as some leaders remain unclear about Trump’s preferred course of action.
Highlighting the stakes involved, Trump warned, “if the U.S. and Iran do not come to an agreement, we’re going to have a situation where no country will ever be hit as hard as they’re about to be hit.” His past comments have also underscored the urgency, asserting that without a deal, “a whole civilization will die” and cautioning Iran that “the Clock is Ticking.”
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio hinted at potential updates on negotiations, stating, “there’s been some progress done, some progress made.” Speaking from the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, India, Rubio suggested that news could emerge imminently, reinforcing the need to resolve this critical issue urgently.
