A North Carolina woman, Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, disappeared during a trip to the Caribbean, leading to concerns she may have drowned. Her husband, Cailen Waddell, provided details suggesting that she was last seen in the water by a group of jet skiers in Grenada on July 22.
According to Cailen’s update on FindLiz.com, the jet skiers tried for several minutes to persuade Liz to join them on a jet ski instead of staying in the ocean. She reportedly assured them by saying, “I’m a good swimmer,” and gave a thumbs-up. Cailen has been using a family-created website to share updates on the situation.
The encounter with the jet skiers allegedly occurred around 5:30 p.m. on the day she was reported missing to the Royal Grenada Police Force. Cailen expressed his grief and the likelihood of her being gone while hoping the investigation would offer more clarity.
Liz was last seen in surveillance video from a nearby Airbnb property, which captured a person appearing to be her, walking near a pool with a towel, and then jumping into the water. Despite coordinated search efforts by drones, dive teams, and dogs, no trace of Liz has been found.
The case remains open as a missing person investigation. Cailen remains hopeful for her return, mentioning he would immediately fly over if she reappeared.
