Mother’s Alertness Foils Alleged Attack Plot on UFC Event at White House

A concerned mother unraveled an alleged plot to attack a UFC event at the White House. Her son’s obsession with weapons and clandestine online communication prompted her to alert authorities.

According to court documents reported by Fox News Digital, Tycen Proper, a 19-year-old from Ohio, was charged with planning an attack on the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House. Investigators focused on Proper after his mother’s alarmed report about his behavior.

Federal officials claim Proper was part of a group planning to use drone explosives, sniper positions, and coordinated attacks at the event on June 14 held on the South Lawn of the White House.

Proper’s mother noted her son researching locations close to Washington, D.C., and receiving detailed maps through messages and Discord.

When confronted, Proper allegedly mentioned conducting “recon” and “hit and run missions,” which his mother took as plans for shootings. On June 10, she reported his firearms purchases and online contacts to authorities.

Upon visiting the family’s home in Knox County, Ohio, deputies learned from Proper’s father that his son met people online and planned “recons.” He intended to leave on June 13 to meet them.

Proper allegedly spent about $3,000 of graduation money on weapons, protective gear, and tactical equipment, which his family gave to law enforcement. His mother explained her son communicated with a group claiming to be ex-military and Christian, influencing his behavior towards physical and tactical training.

After involving the FBI, investigators found plans in his phone discussing an attack during the June 14 UFC event on the White House grounds using drones and positioned shooters.

Prosecutors state Proper admitted to participating in planning these attacks. The event was hosted by President Donald Trump, marking his 80th birthday with UFC matches on the South Lawn.

Retired FBI agent Jason Pack emphasized the significance of family members recognizing and reporting concerning behaviors. He credits the mother’s phone call with preventing an attack.

Retired FBI supervisory agent Rob Chadwick commended the mother’s courage on “The Will Cain Show” for alerting authorities, acknowledging that such awareness is critical in an era of political violence.
