Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) icon Mickie James is slated to make an appearance at Bound for Glory, TNA’s premier event next weekend. During the latest ‘Impact’ show, TNA featured a vignette displaying an older logo on a crate. The crate opened to reveal a brilliant beam of light, which faded to unveil a white cowgirl hat and a denim jacket. A woman took the hat, placing it on her head.
As James’ signature ‘Hardcore Country’ entrance theme played, fans instantly recognized the legendary wrestler. James has had several stints with TNA, first joining in 2002 when TNA was under the auspices of the National Wrestling Alliance. After spending a year there, she shifted to WWE.
Returning to TNA in 2010, James immediately engaged in a feud with Madison Rayne, eventually capturing the TNA Knockouts Championship in April 2011. This victory made her the first woman to hold the TNA Knockouts, WWE Women’s, and WWE Divas Championships. James has claimed the Knockouts title five times during her career.
From 2021 to 2023, James continued to compete in TNA, engaging in matches against Elegance Brand at No Surrender and subsequent ‘Impact’ episodes. Last year, she was honored with an induction into the TNA Hall of Fame.
James’ appearance is among the key highlights for Bound for Glory happening next Sunday, October 11, at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The event will feature four championship bouts, including a thrilling six-way scramble for the vacant TNA X Division Championship featuring wrestlers Fabian Aichner, KC Navarro, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, Ryan Nemeth, and BDE.
There will be a Knockouts Championship contest between Xia Brookside and Indi Hartwell, while a four-way match for the TNA International Championship will see Mustafa Ali, Jason Hotch, John Skyler, and Special Agent Zero compete. Additionally, Nic Nemeth is set to defend the TNA World Championship against Leon Slater.
Other matches include Ricky Sosa versus Eddie Edwards and a Falls Count Anywhere showdown with Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw taking on The Hardys. A Call Your Shot Gauntlet match will occur, granting the winner a future title opportunity.
Fans are set for an exhilarating weekend of professional wrestling action.
