McRib Returns to McDonald’s: A Limited-Time Offer

The iconic McRib sandwich is making a comeback to McDonald’s menus for a limited time. However, not all locations will offer this fan-favorite item.

Starting October 27, McRib will be available in several cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Dallas. Customers can check the McDonald’s app to find out if nearby locations are serving the sandwich.

Guillame Huin, McDonald’s senior marketing director, expressed excitement on social media, stating, “Welcome back, legend!” The McRib, originally created by Luxembourgish-American chef René Arend in 1981, makes its return once again.

The McRib was removed as a permanent menu item in 2012 but has reappeared annually in limited-time promotions since 2020.

In 2023, it was reintroduced in mid-November in some regions and late November nationwide. The sandwich features a boneless pork patty, tangy barbecue sauce, onions, and pickles on a toasted roll.

Fan opinions vary widely. Some McDonald’s customers eagerly await the McRib, with many expressing enjoyment and nostalgia. On Reddit, a user shared, “I love them! I’ve had 6 so far and can’t get enough.” Another mentioned fond memories from high school.

Others, however, are less impressed. One user described eating the McRib “out of pure necessity,” and another remarked that it tasted similar to a “sausage patty with BBQ sauce and pickles.”

The timeframe for this promotion is limited, so enthusiasts are encouraged to act quickly to enjoy the McRib while it is available.
