Authorities in Maryland report that a woman, identified as Ashley Andrews, became agitated at a Taco Bell in Chester due to a delay in receiving her food order. The incident, which occurred on June 18, escalated when Andrews allegedly challenged the employees to meet her outside and proceeded to demonstrate her agitation by lifting her shirt to reveal a handgun. She also reportedly placed her hand on the gun’s grip.
According to the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff, deputies responded to calls about a customer displaying a firearm during a confrontation. Andrews, aged 30, was taken into custody along with another person who was involved in a verbal altercation at the scene. A loaded firearm was reportedly recovered from Andrews, supporting the employees’ accounts of the incident.
Investigators reviewed both surveillance and personal videos recorded by a restaurant employee, which corroborated the workers’ testimonies about Andrews’ actions. The incident took place at the Taco Bell in the Kent Town Market shopping center, located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Fox News also indicates that Andrews faced various charges, including second-degree assault, carrying a handgun, disorderly conduct, and reckless endangerment. Additionally, she has been banned from the Taco Bell premises.
Andrews was initially held on a $5,000 bond but was released after posting bail the following day. She is being represented by a public defender and has requested a speedy trial, with a court appearance set for July.
