Marine Veteran Thwarts Armed Robbery Attempt by Teens

“I feared for my life,” stated Jheyco Borda after a startling encounter. Surveillance footage documented the moment when Borda, a Marine veteran, defended himself against several teenagers in Oxon Hill, Maryland. One teen allegedly pointed a gun at his face.

Borda recounted the harrowing incident: “I was fixing my car, a regular day for me, when the teens appeared. One of them raised a pistol to my head, demanding my car keys, phone, and other valuables.” Despite the danger, Borda managed to wrestle one of the teens to the ground.

The video evidence shows the suspect aiming the gun at Borda’s face. A gunshot followed during the altercation, but fortunately, it didn’t harm anyone. The bullet went through the back of Borda’s truck.

Borda credited his past Marine Corps training for his ability to respond swiftly and effectively. “I prepared myself, and with the adrenaline rush and some training, I managed to stop the attack,” he explained. His brother also intervened, confronting the group of six teenagers, which included four males and two females.

This isn’t the first crime of this nature on Borda’s street. Two years earlier, a similar group had stolen a vehicle in the exact location where Borda’s car was parked.

Law enforcement from Prince George’s County has apprehended two male teens involved in the incident. Investigations into the remaining four suspects continue.
