A 47-year-old man from Houma, Louisiana, identified as Kaegan Jude Solet, is being sought by law enforcement. He is a person of interest following a series of fatal stabbing incidents in the Ashland Drive area.
Investigation Details
Authorities responded to the 200 block of Ashland Drive after discovering a critically injured child. The child suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to an out-of-area hospital, where they remain in stable condition, as stated by Lt. Blake Tabor of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Upon further search, deputies found four individuals deceased inside homes nearby. Their identities and relationships to each other, the injured child, or Solet have not been disclosed.
Person of Interest
Solet has not been arrested or formally charged in relation to these recent incidents. The sheriff’s office highlighted that identifying him as a person of interest does not equate to a criminal charge.
Authorities suspect Solet may still be in the area but are exploring all possibilities. Investigator Tabor stated they are using all available tools to bring him into custody quickly.
Though no indication suggests Solet plans to flee the state, authorities remain vigilant and are examining every option.
Previous Violent Incidents
Solet’s name has emerged in connection with violent crimes before. He was arrested in December 2019 for allegedly stabbing a woman and leaving her locked in a motel room. The woman, found at the Red Carpet Inn, was badly injured and taken to a medical facility.
Witnesses heard cries for help from the room, leading to the discovery of the woman. Solet was then identified as the suspect following an argument that turned violent.
Legal Proceedings and Questions
Despite past serious allegations, Solet is no longer in custody, a situation that has left authorities seeking explanations. Lt. Tabor expressed surprise over his release and emphasized the need for answers on how previous cases were managed.
