Malik Nabers Returns to Giants Practice After Knee Injury

New York Giants fans were thrilled to see wide receiver Malik Nabers back at practice on Wednesday. After a serious knee injury in Week 4 last season, Nabers participated in a full session, describing the sight as a pleasant surprise for many in the organization.

Head coach John Harbaugh expressed optimism about Nabers, who needed to wait for swelling to subside before his knee surgery. Nabers required a second procedure in the spring to remove scar tissue and alleviate stiffness. Despite two surgeries, his availability for the start of the season remains uncertain.

General Manager Joe Schoen shared the enthusiasm about Nabers’ progress, emphasizing the importance of his and the medical staff’s plan for a successful return. Schoen stated, “We’ve got a solid plan for him and will closely monitor how he reacts.” With the training camp in full swing at The Greenbrier, Schoen avoided making predictions on Nabers’ timeline.

“We’ve got a solid plan for him and will closely monitor how he reacts,” Schoen remarked.

Nabers sustained his ACL and meniscus tear during quarterback Jaxson Dart’s first start. His injury led to concerns among fans as he was carted off the MetLife Stadium field. He spent the summer in New Jersey focusing on recovery with the Giants’ medical staff. While not placed on the physically unable to perform list, Nabers’ return is on track for Week 1.

Coach Harbaugh commented, “He looked good. He’s got a process going.” His recovery progress was met with positive reactions from teammates, including quarterback Dart. Dart celebrated Nabers’ return and expressed admiration for his determination.

“There’s an aura he has on the field that’s thrilling. It makes me happy,” stated Dart about Nabers. “He’s attacking his recovery excellently.” The Giants remain hopeful for his healthy return to active play.
