Logan Paul and Austin Theory successfully defended their WWE Tag Team Championship at “Saturday Night’s Main Event” last week. They defeated The Street Profits in a 16-minute match in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The match ended when Paul used brass knuckles to knock out Montez Ford, allowing Theory to secure a pinfall. During the match, Ford sent Paul over the top rope, which almost led to a bad landing for the influencer and wrestling star.
Reports later emerged that Paul suffered an injury during the match. Initially, the details of the injury were unclear, but it became a concern for the rising WWE star. On Monday, it was confirmed that Paul sustained a torn triceps, an injury that could sideline him for several months. WWE commentator Michael Cole confirmed this on Monday’s episode of “Raw.”
Despite mixed opinions about his character, Paul’s injury is a setback in his rapid rise in the WWE. Known for his confident promos and ability to generate heat from fans, Paul quickly adapted to in-ring techniques. Before his tag team title with Theory, he held the WWE United States Championship for 273 days, hinting at a promising future in major championships.
Beyond the recent match, Paul and Theory previously feuded with newcomer Joe Hendry, who released a music video titled “Fire Logan Paul.” However, due to his injury, Paul will be absent from physical altercations with Hendry for a while. In his absence, Hendry may contend with Paul’s stablemates, The Vision. During “Raw,” Theory attacked Hendry, likely setting up a temporary rivalry.
WWE announced that Bron Breakker will join Theory as the other WWE Tag Team Champion. While Paul’s injury is a hurdle, he has other projects to pursue and can focus on recovery. His resilience may see him return stronger to WWE action.
