Harris aimed to connect with donors who might soon support her campaign. Li recalled participating in calls where Harris expressed unwavering support for Biden, yet actively worked to impress donors.

After Biden’s decision on July 21, Harris swiftly engaged Democratic leaders, suggesting she had Biden’s endorsements. Li described Harris’s extensive charm campaign to secure support, despite Biden’s initial reluctance to endorse her.
Li stated Harris rapidly consolidated backing, leveraging a strategic approach. Biden went on to endorse Harris later that day, approximately half an hour after declaring he wouldn’t seek reelection.
