Juror’s Attorney Addresses Claims in Lindsay Clancy Trial

The lawyer representing Michael P. Desronvil, the sole holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial, is contesting claims that his client failed to follow legal protocol. Speaking with Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany, attorney Edward Paltzik stated Desronvil was certain of his decision.

In a preview of an upcoming interview on “Fox & Friends,” McEnany queried Paltzik about whether Desronvil ever had reasonable doubt, following a note from the jury foreperson alleging he neglected the principle of reasonable doubt. Paltzik replied firmly, “Michael had zero doubt.”

“Zero doubt. No doubt. And he had evidence to back up his position?” McEnany asked.
“A lot of evidence. A mountain of evidence,” Paltzik responded.

Desronvil remained the lone holdout after seven days of jury deliberations. Although eleven jurors were prepared to declare the former nurse not criminally responsible, Desronvil stood firm for a conviction. This led Judge William Sullivan to declare a mistrial on September 4.

Lindsay Clancy admitted to the killings of her three children at their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. Her defense cited postpartum psychosis as a reason for her lack of criminal responsibility. However, prosecutors maintained she was aware and premeditated the actions.

Desronvil later stated that the physical evidence and testimonies indicated Clancy’s awareness of her actions. The prosecution has yet to decide on retrying the case. Clancy is scheduled to return to court on September 29.
