Jonathan Andic, the son of the late fashion mogul Isak Andic, called emergency services to report his father’s fall during a hike in December 2024. In a distressing 911 call obtained by Spanish media outlet El País, Jonathan pleaded for help, stating, “I need help, my father has fallen!” They were near the Salnitre Caves in Collbató, close to Barcelona, when the incident happened.
Isak Andic, aged 71, fell about 500 feet down a ravine. Tragically, he did not survive the fall. His son was the only person present at the time. Jonathan later faced arrest and a potential homicide investigation regarding his father’s death.
On May 19, 2026, Jonathan attended a court hearing at the Juzgado de Instruccion 5 in Martorell, Spain. Reports indicate that a 911 call recording is a central piece of evidence for the defense. Jonathan had called out, “My father has fallen, I can’t see him, he doesn’t answer me,” clearly distressed over the situation.
The Andic family has consistently defended Jonathan, asserting his innocence. They stated via Reuters, “There is no legitimate evidence against him, nor will any be found.” The investigation shifted from an accident to a homicide inquiry, drawing significant attention.
Isak Andic, an esteemed businessman, founded Mango in 1984. Originally from Istanbul, he moved to Catalonia in the 1960s. Under his leadership, Mango became a major competitor to brands like Zara, spreading to more than 100 countries. At the time of his death, he was the company’s non-executive chairman, with his net worth reportedly at $4.5 billion.
Jonathan Andic, the eldest of Isak’s three children, plays a significant role in the family business, serving as vice chairman of Mango’s board. Despite the gravity of the situation, the family continues to support him publicly.
