Recently released dispatch audio provides insight into an alleged domestic violence incident involving Josh Jacobs, the running back for the Green Bay Packers. Audio obtained by TMJ 4 reveals a dispatcher communicating with a police officer about the ‘yelling and screaming’ heard through an open line inside Jacobs’ residence.
Things being thrown, open line… Possibly a male and female.
In a second call, a dispatcher described information from a neighbor about an assault at Jacobs’ home. When authorities reached Jacobs’ residence, he had already left in his Mercedes G-Wagon. Police tracked his vehicle using license plate readers and directed officers to stop it if spotted.
Following an investigation by the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department, Jacobs was arrested and booked on five charges related to domestic abuse. The charges include domestic abuse battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation. Strangulation and suffocation are felonies, while the others are misdemeanors.
Jacobs’ attorneys, David Z. Chesnoff and Clarence Duchac, publicly stated that Jacobs denies all allegations, emphasizing the early stage of the investigation and the existence of crucial evidence yet to be revealed.
The NFL is aware of the situation and has contacted the Packers but refrained from comment due to the ongoing investigation. Josh Jacobs has completed his second season with the Packers, achieving 929 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 1,234 carries in 2025. In 2024, he recorded 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns, leading the Packers’ ground game. Before joining Green Bay, Jacobs played for the Las Vegas Raiders for five seasons, with a standout year in 2022 where he amassed 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns.
